YOUTUBE’S WEBSITE NOW BLOCKS IOS 14’S PICTURE-IN-PICTURE MODE UNLESS USERS PAY FOR PREMIUM YOUTUBE

One of the newest features on the latest iPhone is the picture-in-picture feature. If you aren't familiar, this lets you watch a video in a small window while you do other things on your phone. It is a feature that could be super handy for texting a friend while watching a YouTube video on, say, safari. But nope... YouTube has done something that prevents this from happening. Users have been trying it out and noting that the video will briefly flicker to picture-in-picture mode before it stops unless you are a YouTube premium member. However, you are the exception for all of you iPad users out there. This functionality works for picture-in-picture without any issues, whether you have a YouTube premium account or not. As of now, no one knows whether this is a bug or an intentional decision on YouTube's part. YouTube already restricts the ability to play videos in the background to their premium users, so this may be an intentional decision. We'll make sure to let you know. YOUTUBE MUSIC HITS 500 MILLION DOWNLOADS ON THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE

Replacing a well-loved music platform is a challenging task. Yet, YouTube music is successful in replacing Google Play Music. YouTube Music is proving itself daily, recently hitting the 500 million downloads mark on the Google Play Store. YouTube Music has been slowly transitioning to replace Google Play Music with the app that will soon be taken off of all android devices and potentially all devices in general. YouTube Music also comes pre-bundled on all devices, which has helped the rise of Youtube Music downloads (unless you have an older phone). Each week, users see more and more of the popular Play Music features on the YouTube Music app. YouTube Music will soon surpass the success of Google play and go above and beyond what they initially thought would be achieved. Josh Richards has more than 20 million fans on TikTok, 6.8 million on Instagram, 2.1 million subscribers on Youtube, and 1.1 million followers on Triller. So if anyone thought amateur singing and dancing was just for fun, it might be time to rethink that assessment. His edgy-teen personality and followers on the app have earned him $1.5 million over the past year. The young star has also forged a path to show influencers how to monetize properly. Richards, born in early 2002 in Ontario, Canada, has quickly changed his family's quiet lifestyle with his emergent stardom on social media. Richard's first success was through traditional sponsorships, including Reebok, House Party, ads on Youtube, and a deal with Warner Records to make a song. Besides his success, Richards co-founded Talent X and has his drink business, Ani Energy. You can also find social content at one of the biggest TikTok houses, Sway House in LA. Way to go, Josh! Earlier this month, "i" a print and online newspaper, announced that it had doubled its Instagram following in a year. When asked how they did it, they provided the following tips and tricks: -Consistency: This might seem obvious, but it's true; the news distributor said they had way more success when they posted every day rather than posting a few good things less consistently. -Content is King: They also said that content needs to be dealt with the same way you would in a physical newspaper for Instagram. Keep things on-brand! Instagram is usually known as a more positive platform, but for news outlets, it's also okay to lean into a more informative side with your posts. -Analytics: The last tip they gave was to keep up with your metrics. The best way to know what's working is to check the analytics and see what posts are getting people to visit your page, click the link in your bio, and which posts are getting more comments and likes. While some of these might seem obvious, that's the point. Instagram as a news platform only works if you do what works for your brand by keeping things consistent and engaging with your followers. INSTAGRAM PROMOTING “SUGGESTED” REELS SECTION IN THE HOME FEED

πŸ“· Image Credit: Digital Information World πŸ‘†By: Arooj Ahmed TL;DR Instagram has been doing some experiments with their newest feature, Reels, by adding it to the homepage Instagram is trying to boost exposure to its newest feature, Reels, on the app. By doing this, Instagram is hoping to gain more engagement. The suggested Reels are meant to be relevant to the users, but it is still being determined how exactly it's working. Right now, Instagram is facing some challenges with the new feature. Most users have reported that they don't think Reels is as good as Instagram. Another issue the app is facing, most of the content on Reels is reposted from TikTok, which makes Reels an indirect advertisement for TikTok, its direct competitor. Instagram is trying to fix this by doing a monthly Reels trend report and then promoting the top-ranking Reels to gain a broader audience with their best content. The monthly trend report is something that TikTok already does. As of now, Reels on the homepage seem to be a big move for Instagram.
